About Us

Your hosts, Dominique and Christophe Cachat, are a young French-American couple with a joie de vivre, a true love of food and wine, and an ability to organize that will translate into the perfect adventure for you!

Their story began in a small village in the South of France, where they met as children during summer vacation. Christophe, a native of the Haute Savoie region of France, was visiting his grandparents. Dominique, who was born and raised in north Florida, came with her parents, who had just purchased a summer home in the village. Every summer they met again, and by the teenage years, they were dating in the summer and visiting when they could during the year. They are now married and living in France.

Christophe and Dominique enjoy traveling regularly around Provence and other parts of France searching for new and exciting culinary adventures to share with you!

Dominique- The Food Adventurist

Dominique is a true "foodie". Her father, a native of Grenoble, France, is a chef patissier-chocolatier. He came to the United States in 1974, where he met and married his American wife. They had a restaurant, where Dominique learned her devotion to all things culinary and chocolate! When she returned from culinary school in Chicago, she and her parents opened a small French bistro in her hometown of Tallahassee, Florida. After marrying Christophe, she moved to France in 2006. Dominique's zest for living, sense of humor, and knowledge of good food and wine will make your trip to France an unforgettable experience!

Christophe- The Wine Adventurist Christophe has known about good wine and the beauty of his native France all his life. His family taught him an appreciation of the food, wine and culture available to them. He grew up in the Haute Savoie region of the Alps, skiing and hiking in the mountains. His grandfather was the mayor of his village in the South of France, and taught him about the wonders of that area. He came to Florida in 2005 to spend a year at the FSU School for Intensive English Studies to learn English (and to woo Dominique into marrying him and moving to France!). He has also studied the techniques of wine tasting, and is constantly learning more about wines. Christophe's knowledge and appreciation of his country, along with his enthusiastic attitude, will guarantee an exciting and intimate look into the cultural density of France!
